Blount County’s three school districts celebrated 10 of their best student success stories Friday at the 2016 Turnaround Achievement Awards.
One student recipient from each middle and high school showed the power of making positive choices and having support from family and school, during an emotional ceremony at the Capitol Theatre.
Blount County Schools received communication from the Tennessee Department Of Education which required a revision to the testing calendar.
There are no changes to the high school assessment schedule. High schools have all materials and will begin assessments, as scheduled, on 4/26/16.
Grades 3 - 8 will now begin assessments on Wednesday, 4/27/16.
The test schedule will be as follows :
Wednesday, 4/27 - ELA. Even though Wednesday is the new start date, this is not a change for the date ELA was to be given on the previous schedule.
Thursday, 4/28 - Math/8th grade Alg. I. This is a date change from the original schedule. Math will now be the second subject assessed instead of the first.
Friday, 4/29 - ELA/Math make up. This date has also advanced one day from the previous schedule.
Monday, 5/2 - Social Studies
Tuesday, 5/3 - Science
Wednesday, 5/4 - Make ups
We apologize for the change and appreciate your flexibility as we work to ensure successful testing for our students.
